Smart Radio - Staffordshire's Local Radio
As you may know, over the last few years Smart Radio has been broadcasting across Staffordshire on a trial basis. In 2004, OFCOM (the broadcasting regulating body) introduced a third tier* of radio licence for community radio. As we get ever closer to achieving our objective, the aim of Smart Radio remains the same… to deliver a community/commercial local radio station, which informs educates and entertains, whilst promoting the interests of the community locally. Smart Radio is a truly local radio station run by local people for local people - working our way towards a fulltime community broadcasting licence in the near future.
Our target transmission area covers Stafford, Stone and Eccleshall but also reaches south towards parts of Lichfield & Wolverhampton and north towards The Potteries.
Smart Radio will be broadcasting again across Staffordshire sometime during 2008 and, as always, are very grateful for any assistance and support you can give us. Please spread the word.
