How To Network Using MTI - Brothers by Duncan Wilcock
I don't know about you, but I have never really found the MTI brothers website very easy to use. It's unfortunate, because the website actually masks a pretty extensive and useful database. Not only does it have job information, but it also has extensive information on former students of Grenoble Ecole de Management.
This information can be used to "network" - that is get in touch with people for business purposes - with former GEM / GGSB students in your country. After all, the network of your B-School is supposed to be one of the big benefits from an MBA. |

Finding People
1. Click Consulter l'Annuaire
2. Login with your Username and Password
In Your Country
1. Click Recherche d'un MTI Brother à partir de critères de recherche
2. A form appears, with many choices. The more you enter on this form, the fewer results you will get. Therefore, just choose your country in the "Pays" box
3. Click "Valider" at the bottom of the page
4. You will see results, 10 to a page, for Canada I get 22 responses in all
5. The "Promotion" column is the year the person graduated
6. Click on a person's name for more details on them
In Your Graduation Year
1. Click Recherche d'un MTI Brother à partir de critères de recherche
2. A form appears, with many choices. The more you enter on this form, the fewer results you will get. Enter the year of graduation in the "Promotion" box and Programmes Internationaux in the "Programme GEM" box
3. Click "Valider" at the bottom of the page
4. You will see results, 10 to a page, for 2003 nothing comes up as none of us have officially graduated as of now (27.08.2003 - not till December). 2002 Gives 74 results (this includes MIB and MBA)
5. Click on a person's name for more details on them
Those are the two most useful searches I have found, but you can use the form to search for people in other ways too - there is also a simple key word search at the bottom of the form.
Put Your Own Information On MTI - Brothers
This puts details into your profile such as where you live, and what your skills are, and can be searched by job hunters and other alumni - like us. Basically if you fill this out, you are more likely to come up when people are searching the database.
1. Click Espace Prive Diplomé
2. Enter your contact details, photograph, skills etc.

What MTI stands for ?
Management de Technologie et Information - the brothers part is supposed to indicate that we are all a family - but what about the sisters?
Why it's called MTI Brothers and not something like www.grenoble-em.com/jobs ?
I don't know - MTI brothers is run by GEM/GGSB and GEM/GGSB only - but I guess no one in the school outside of Sadowksy's class has heard of brand dilution or something.
